The Story of a Photographer

Hello and thank you so much for choosing me to capture your Christmas portraits! Together we will create beautiful keepsake images that you will love and share for years! All successful photo shoots require planning and preparation which will be easy and painless! The first mission is to make sure everyone knows what to expect so there aren't any surprises.

Unfortunately, the first thing we need to plan for is COVID. Please let me know if any family members show any signs or symptoms of illness or if any family members have been exposed to someone that tested positive with 2 weeks of the session. Social distancing will not be possible in the studio. I am fully vaccinated and have received a COVID booster shot.

Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes before your session. There is not much wiggle room because there is likely a session following yours and I need to sanitize and prepare the studio for the next family. There will only be one family allowed in the studio at a time so please remain in your car upon arrival. I will call, text or come out to get you when you are able to come in.

I wont have a lot of time to get to know your kids and let them warm up to me before photos, so I may need your assistance making them feel comfortable. You may be in a few photos to comfort your child, even if that isn't your plan. You know your child best so I may ask for your assistance making them at ease. But also, it's okay if they aren't giving big smiles right off the bat! I love to get all of the other expressions that really let their personality shine as well. We will get a few photos of everyone looking and smiling, but I will be capturing lots of candid photos as well. I will be directing you every step of the way so you wont be wondering what you should be doing or where should you be looking. I will encourage hugging, kissing, tickling and a variety of different interactions that will help everyone relax in front of the camera.

Make sure everyone is well rested, well fed and wearing comfortable clothing. When you talk to your children about our upcoming photoshoot, keep the vibe upbeat and positive! I've found that telling kids to smile at the camera and to behave themselves creates fake smiles and stress during the photoshoot so leave that part to me! I want them to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible so I can capture their true personalities.

Please make sure you fill out this questionnaire so I know what you want to get out of your photoshoot and so I am as prepared as I need to be also.

In the event of a snowstorm restricting travel on the day of the photoshoot, we will reschedule. If we are not able to reschedule to an acceptable time before Christmas, your money will be refunded 100%.

Thank you for your cooperation!

Please contact me with any questions you might have for me. I look forward to seeing you soon!
